Porsche 944 S2
Years ago my grandfather bought this car and I was immediately able to get my hands dirty with its maintenance. Since it is over 30 years old now and has over 100,000 miles, there has always been work to be done on this car. This has consisted of regular maintenance like oil changes, replacing of fuses, and exterior detailing, as well as repairs, which most recently included the replacement of the clutch slave cylinder. My grandfather and I were able to diagnose this problem and replace the part with his knowledge of car repair and the tools he keeps in his garage. In the future we are planning on replacing the shifting mechanism which has worn down and become sloppy, as well as replacing the timing belt and performing the necessary maintenance on those components. This car has allowed me to get my hands greasy while still remaining under the eye of someone who has experience and can give me a hand when needed.

Recently I purchased an out of repair motorcycle with the intent of restoring it to working order in a shed in my back yard. When I bought the bike, not much else existed besides the frame, motor, and transmission. I have spent this summer mostly searching for parts and installing them. This has included a new wiring harness and battery, the carburetors and associated components, and the rear shocks. Soon I will be looking to install the controls, fuel system, and inspecting the condition of the brakes. This project has thrown me into the deep end of automotive repair and I am excited to continue working on it.
